Does anyone know the nomenclature name for HBr and HBr (aq)?

is there a difference between the two? or are they both hydrobromic acid?

Answer:
HBr has the IUPAC name of hydrogen bromide
When it is dissolved in water (rather than being a pure liquid) HBr(aq) would definitely act as an acid, hence the name hydrobromic acid.

Both names could be correct, depending on the context and whether you are using strict IUPAC naming or using the common name
yes they are both acid. there isnt any difference
hydrobromic acid is HBr (aq)

HBr (s) is hydrogn bromide
HBr = hydrobromic acid
HBr (aq) = hydrobromic acid in aqueous solution
Sarah M is completely right.

"The aqueous solution hydrobromic acid forms upon dissolving HBr in water. Conversely, HBr can be liberated from hydrobromic acid solutions upon the addition of a dehydration agents. Hydrogen bromide and hydrobromic acid are, therefore, not the same, but they are related. Commonly, chemists refer to hydrobromic acid as "HBr", and this usage, while understood by most chemists, is imprecise and can be confusing to the non-specialist."
The only difference is that one is a gas and the other is in solution.
Technically they are different. HBr is hydrobromic acid and it is a gas in its natural state. The way you have HBr(aq) written means an aqueuos solution of hydrobromic acid. Basically it means gaseous hydrobromic acid dissolved or bubbled in water. Hope this helps
