Chemistry question?
a-is a # w/o a unit
b-can be determined w/ a hydrometer
c-is generally the ratio of the den. of the liquid to the den. of H2O
d-all of the above
2)what is the volume of 60.0 of ether if the density of ether is .70 g/mL?
3)Concentrated hydrochloric acid has a density of 1.19 g/mL. What is the mass in grams, of 2.00 liters of this acid?(the answer preferred in scientific notation)
Answer:
1) A
2) If you mean 60g then use dimentional analysis
and cancel your units to get what you want
60g ether..x.1 mL..ether.=.85mL's
.....0.70g ether
3) Is done the same as #2
2.00L.x.1000mL.x.1.19gHCl.=.23...
.....1L.....
First of all, you shouldn't be asking your homework questions on here.
Second, here's the answers:
1. D
2. Can't be answered because you did not post a unit for your quantity of ether. But if it is in grams, the answer is 85.71 mL or 86 mL if you take your answer to two significant figures.
3. 2.38 x 10^3 g.
The answer posted above mine is incorrect for number one, is not rounded correctly for number two and besides being wrong again for number 3, it is not in scientific notation.
