To measure Dissolve Oxigen (DO) in water, which one more accurate? use DO meter or Winkler method?
Answer:
definitely the Winkler method. The DO metter uses tansportation of oxygen molecules across a membrane. If there is dissolved solids that could adsorb to the membrane, the DO readout would be erroneous.
The Winkler method is chemical and there are very few interferences. Although it is slow, the Winkler is the most accurate
