Electron capture detector with GCMS and types of accelerants?

so we're using a GCMS with an electron capture detector. Some solutions we are running are lighter fluid, isopropyl alcohol and paint thinner. We aren't getting good results. Could this be due to the type of detector the machine uses? Can you explain this? Thanks

Answer:
Probably due to poor calibration.
