Chemistry Help!!?

Materials
Thermometer
Jar w/ lid
Small plastic or glass container
Vinegar
Steel wool
Gloves

Procedure
1.Place thermometer in the jar and close the lid. Wait five minutes for the thermometer to adjust to the temp.
2.Open the lid and record temp.
3.In the other container, soak a small piece of the steel wool in the vinegar for one minute. Separate steel wool so the vinegar can reach all the filaments. The vinegar needs to be at room temp.
5.Squeeze the excess vinegar from the steel wool.
6.Wrap steel wool around the thermometer and place both in jar (you can use a rubber band). Close the lid.
7.After five minutes open the lid and record the temp.

Note: Make sure to record the temp. accurately as the change in the temp. will be small.

Questions
1.What was the initial temp. in the jar?
2.What was the temp. after the reaction?
3.What was the change in temp.?
4.Was this reaction Exothermic or Endothermic?
5.Are chemical bonds forming or breaking

Answer:
I'm sorry. This is a practical and u need a thermometer to know the temperatures (initial and final). But when u finish using ta thermometer and get the temperatures: with these you can know whether the reaction is exothermic (increase in temperature of surrounding- bond forming) or endothermic (decrease in temp of surrounding - bond breaking)
i think it will be much more easier for you if you carry out the experiment.
