Basic Chem / Name the compounds site?
I'm a Biochemistry major. Biology is cake to me but Chemistry on the other hand is.uhg. I am looking for a good website with great examples for Chemistry. I am also looking for a site that is strongly devoted to learning to name compounds in there symboled form (ie.. (NH4)2CO3 = Ammonium carbonate).
Basically, I need a good self teaching site for Gen. Chem so I can help my self before I begin the actually course. Any Help would be apperciated :) Thanks Guys
Answer:
The best thing you could do is get yourself a textbook on general chemistry from your library and work with the tutors at your school. Chemistry is just like any other subject, it takes time and practice to learn. I really don't understand how you can major in biochemistry without understanding chemistry. Biochemistry deals with biology on a molecular basis and it would be extremely difficult to a person who was having trouble with basic chemical concepts. Although if naming is your only problem, then you're fine. I hope you're good at math though.
