Can the photoelectric effect be used to charge a leyden jar?

just wondering

Answer:
Not usefully. The energy of photoelectrons is too low to put more than a few volts on a Leyden jar or other capacitor. Experiments with such jars typically use potentials of hundreds or thousands of volts.
