How can you acid test a silver bar if its even possible?

Answer:
there are not too many acids that react with silver. Many people think of HCl as being the acid of choice for reacting metals but:
Ag + HCl will produce - no reaction
So, I suggest:
4 Ag + 6 HNO3 will produce 4 AgNO3 + NO + NO2 + 3 H2O

I hope that helps.
