What are the products of these reactions ? 1)1,2- dichloroethane and alcoholic KOH. 2) 1,1-dichloroethane and alcoholic KOH.

Answer:
1. KCL and 1-chlorethanol
2. H2O and 1,1-Chloro-2-potassium ethane
1 CH2OH-CH2OH + KCl

2 no reaction... (not sure) but U will have some dichloroethane molecules drunken... hic hic.
