What is band theory in terms of chemical bonding.?

something to do with energy bands and so on.

Answer:
Band theory can be related to molecular orbital theory if you consider a very long chain of atoms forming one very large molecular orbital. Every linear combination of atomic orbital wavefunctions will result in a molecular orbital, with the spacings between orbitals getting smaller as you include more atoms in the system. It's not a perfect analogy, but it does help bridge the two concepts.
Band theory does not really relate to chemical bonds. It relates to the behaviour of electrons in solids.
