Chemical or Physical?
a. Corrosiveness
b. Magnetism
c. Ability to burn rapidly
Would these be chemical changes, physical changes, or both?
a. A block of silicon chips being sliced into wafers to be
used in microcomputer chips
b. Steam condensing on the bathroom mirror as
someone takes a shower
c. Dynamite exploding and destroying an old building
d. The growth of a child
Thanks for your help!
Answer:
Corrosivness- This would be a chemical change. Basically a change in the substance by way of a chemical reaction.
Magnetism-This would be a physical change, no chemical reaction
Ability to burn rapidly. The ability of something to burn more rapidly involves the consumption of more oxygen therefore it is a chemical change
a- Physical change. No chemical reaction only a change in shape or physical appearance
b-Physical change. Water is only changing forms from a liquid to a gas.
c-It would be both. It would be the dynamite exploding and it changing from a solid stick to tiny bits and pieces
d-Physical consideriing the change in size and chemical due to for example the insides of the child developing
corrosivness-chemical
magnetism-physical
burn rapidly-chemical
2.
a-physical(no chemical reaction)
b-chemical change(only condensation involvd)
c-physical and chemical(i think or cud b only physical)
d-physical and chemical for sure
