What happens when MnSO4 is added to the system of H2SO4 and KMn4? and What's the function of MnSO4?

please..i really need help...thanks!

Answer:
2KMnO4 + 3H2SO4 <==> K2SO4 + 2MnSO4 + 3H2O + 5[O]

now as u add more MnSO4 , the concentration of the product will increase causing the eq. to shift at the left. [refer Le chatelier's principle] . More of the product will recombine to produce the reactants.So. in other words, yield of the products will decrease.
u can substitute KMnO4 + H2SO4 as O.
2KMnO4(aq) + 3H2SO4(aq) → 2MnSO4(aq) + K2SO4(aq) + 3H2O(l) + 5O(g)

Ignore the other compounds, just look at the end of the reaction. 5 Oxygen atom are formed!!

so:

MnSO4 + O -->MnO2 + SO3
Perhaps you are trying to oxidise oxalic acid using acidified KMnO4. The MnSO4 is then a catalyst for the reaction, because the Mn2+ ion catalyses this reaction. It is said to be autocatalytic.
