How much energy is needed to transform double carbon bonds into CH2 bonds?

What amoynt of energy would be needed to break carbon bonds found in coal and make CH bonds getting hydrogen from methane so that coal plus methane makes CH2 bonds?

Answer:
I dont really get your question, but if u need to make a double bond into a CH2-CH2, you could use hydrogenation reaction. Pass hydrogen into the vapour of the sample in the presence of Nickel as a catalyst.
