Heating water?

A pot containing 3.00 kg of water is sitting on a hot stove and the water is stirred violently by a mixer that does 6.0 kJ of mechanical work on the water. The temperature of the water rises by 4.00°C. What quantity of heat flowed into the water from the stove during the process?

Answer:
The last answerer is right. Use the C = m x Q x deltaT

C = Specific heat of water
m = mass of water
Q = energy absorbed by the water
deltaT = Temperature change (Given: 4)
q=mc(dT)

q=(3,000)(4.18)(4)

50,160 J
=50.16KJ

since the stir bar provides 6.0KJ of energy, the heat transfered from the s tove is 50.16 - 6
=44.16KJ
