How can i make an atom inspired cake?
I have a project due to make an edible cake inspired by an atom and i need creative ideas.
Answer:
Model it on an double bond orbital model (and call it PIE bonding)
make it circular... with the nucleus in the center full of protons and neutrons.. and electrons on the outer orbitals..
First I'd look at an image such as this for inspiration:

The outer shape should be relatively easy to make. I'd bake a regular round cake and use a knife to shape it like the outside orbits of the electrons. Represent the Protons and Neutrons with large jellybeans or some other cake decoration (look in the baking aisle at the grocery store) and same with the outer electrons. Trace the orbits of the electrons with the icing in a tube that's used for decorating cakes (again, grocery store).
Should look nice. Now I want to make one :-)
You could try and make one big cake (the nucleus) and several little cakes/cupcakes (electrons) and arrange them on a platter with frosting orbitals.
There is such thing as the Plum Pudding Model
Which This Scientist proposed for the early atom structure..
I forgot his name but he did the Gold foil experiemnt.
The Plum Pudding model explained that atom is like scattered protons(plums or chocolate chips) and neutrons (other stuff) and electrons (small stuff)
