Does having a strong economy do any good in battling terrorism?

It clearly helped the United States in World War 2..

Answer:
WW2 is what brought us out of a deep Depression. So the war caused a strong economy.
Having a good economy helps fight wars though, because then you can make "guns and butter" as the old saying goes.
I am quite amazed about what was going on during the Vietnam war: Sending men to the moon many times at HUGE expense, fighting a long drawn out war in IndoChina at HUGE expense, and introducing Prez Johnson's new program Medicare/Medicaid at ENORMOUS expense. I don't know how this was possible.
It depends: if you really use it to battle terrorism instead of pretending 2 do so...
