I have 2 gigs of RAM but can only load ~900mb of memory into Stata. Is there a way to add more?

Answer:
Some versions of Stata only allow for a limited number of data entries, so you might want to check the Stata documentation and see if your version is limited in such a way.

2nd, have you tried increasing the amount of virtual memory allocated by your system?

Also, I remember reading somewhere that Stata requires contiguous memory addresses when loading data into memory. I'm not sure if it's true or not, but you might want to find a memory defrag program somewhere and run that before you try loading the data.
yeah get a new motherboard.
