Isn't it ironic the boost the chinese economy gets from americans using fireworks to celebrate 4th of july?

Anyone have any figures on the economic boost the chinese receive since most fireworks seem to be chinese made. As if they weren't getting enough from everything else being imported.

Answer:
In response to the previous answer, the idea that the US spends billions of dollars on fireworks imports for China in any given year is preposterous.

I remember that the US Census Bureau published a report on imports related to the 4th of July, and the figures showed that the US imported roughly $120 million worth of fireworks from China in 1999.
They say the amount spent is in the billions. There used to be several factories in the US making fireworks. But like everything else it China made now.
