World poverty?

hypothetically speaking, if it IS possible to end world poverty and hunger..
what can world leaders do to end poverty and hunger in a step-by-step process? and why?

Answer:
the problem in ending third world poverty has nothing to do with the resources we are giving them but rather with developing a sustainable way to help their economies. What i mean by sustainable is that its pretty much pointless to give families food if you dont teach them how to grow their own, its useless to give them antiretroviral medication if you dont give them condoms to make sure the disease doesnt spread any further. We have to give them not only money but also resources to make sure they can maintain what we give them. We have to assure they use policies not only to help them grow but to actually manage to achieve improvements in living standards.
In the first place, the bigger problem today is obesity.

In the second place, third world countries need to stop worshipping the mongoose, possibly invent the wheel and otherwise get a clue.
share the bread equally
poverty is one of the biggest problems of the world, leaders should help each other in providing foods, water etc. by providing money
I think the governments of the world could stop being greedy.that would be a good start. Some so-called third world countries have the richest governments in the world.. because they keep the money and don't pass it on to their people.
There is more than enough money in this world for everyone to live comfortably.but unfortunately, we are kept at certain social statures, eg; lower middle and upper class. The Governments do this for a reason, money is power, and if everyone had the same amount of money, who would have the power?
If greed was eliminated, (which wont happen as people just keep getting greedier) the world would be a much better place.
Sad but true :(
Stop spending for army. Just as easy as that. In most countries in the world, the military research is financed way above education or health sectors. As long as the need to "defend" against other "possible threats" coming from humans like us that are thinking the same way, there will be poverty. It's the human nature, and it won't change any time soon.
Giving out money wouldn't teach or give an equal opportunity to buy, just an enlighten the occasion. Nor would by opening new working or job opportunity, yea opportunity and more opportunity to almost anything that would requires human interactions, and it wouldn't made any investors, whomever that would be any richer or satistified either way.
That's a big question - you need to look at poor countries that got rich (like America), and rich countries that got poor (like Zimbabwe), and think about what the rich did right and the Poor did wrong.
1) I'd say kill all Dictators - Mugabe, Stalin, Hitler and Mao all impoverished their peoples.
The UN should send in the special forces to wipe out Governments that generate Refugees. The UNHCR is the most shameful organisation on Earth. It says "its OK to persecute your own people - we will resettle the ones who make it over the border." This is a great wrong, and there are worse things than a just war to protect the innocent citizens of a bad regime.
2) Free Trade - China and India are rapidly becoming rich on trade with the West. Everywhere there are barriers to trade, it's rich countries keeping the poor countries' products out to protect our own higher paid jobs. It's greedy and immoral - let the poor guys work their way up the ladder we stand on top of.
3) Forget about Global Warming - let the 3rd World have their dirty, Coal-powered industrial Revolution, we had ours 100 years ago, and it made us rich enough to clean up the environment later. Give them the same chance.
4) The Green Revolution shows we can feed everyone on the planet if we just use enough Nitrogen fertiliser and irrigation, and don't make war on our own people.
proverty is a mind set. teach people skills to be rich and people will make lots of money. being rich is learned behavior, such as the alphabet. if you and i can learn it then we have enough skills to learn all other skills.
1. Eliminate profits from essential foods & water. Federal Aid to the country's governemnts does not always put food on people's tables. Large profits go to the corporations, and some of the aid is retained by the government and not dispursed properly to the people.

2. Focus on ways to make sea water drinkable.
(there are purification systems out there, they just have not been 'cost effective' maybe they could be more cost effective, if we were not worried about the profits.. (see 1)

3. Create a network of pipelines to transport the water, similar to the oil piplelines...

4. Transport the Water.

5. Focus on food.. Once communities have fresh water, they may be able to grow their own foods using hydroponics (growing without soil).

Powders can be added to pure water to assist in the growth of the foods. It would be easier and cheaper to transport than the food its self.

The quality of our soil is a limited resource, and with hydroponics you are able to grow food even in the harshest lands..

Once food and water issues are solved, housing is not as hard to establish using local materials. Education about processes, etc.

One thing to ask yourself is at what point would that person be considered out of poverty? when they get house? House with air conditioning? etc.. The middle class in mexico lives as well as some of the lower class in america..
