Does anyone know where I can find price elasticities in the Japanese IT hardware market?

Answer:
Normally, they're calculated on log/log paper.

Unfortunately, I've never seen any studies; but my offhand guess is that it would be, at this point, more inelastic. Most consumers own a computer, the upgrade decision is some function of market prices, how "good" new computers are, and their frustration with current computers.
