Technically,every country is a mixed economy. No country has a government that doesn't interfere at all in the market (pure capitalism). Likewise, no country has a government that controls every little detail of how, what, and where to produce (pure socialism).

china, russia and cuba. socialist on paper but their money mongers like the rest of us western countries. the ironic thing is at least we have laws and regulatory bodies like the FCC. in those countries the rich are free to plunder as they see fit and the little guy has NO legal recourse.
There is only capitalism in the modern world. The west has enforced its values on other countries because they are poorer. First with aid in exchange for government power, factory sies, cheap labour etc. and if that fails with conflict, which smaller nations cannot hope to win.
Oddly, the three mix evenly, more or less, in stable, post-industrialized countries that happen to be "white" governments. They also, again oddly, generally have the lowest birth rate.
Canada, New Zealand, & Australia all have socialized medicine & health care, but they are considered democratic capitalistic type countries.
I don't know about health care in England but they may fall into this catagory also. {?}
