If/when the sea level should rise and cause flooding in major cities world wide...?

Will our governments (local/national/international) be able to "handle" the economic problems that arise?

Answer:
Why handle it when they can just ignore it, and deny that there is a problem instead. If it's the British government then they will just leave it until the very last minute then come up with a blinding plan which we will have to pay for. Not that I don't have complete belief in my government - HA!
They'll have to deal with it. Like 60% of all of the people in the US live within 100 miles of an ocean. And just about all of the major cities are within that 100 miles. And if there's a major rise in the sea level, all of that's going to be underwater and they'll have to move everything more inland.
