Has the United States ever seen a single-state recession like that of Michigan today?

I thought there was another state in just as bad financial state as Michigan? Or maybe not. I think that around the time following Hurricane Katrina there was talk that Michigan was in as bad financial state as those states affected by the hurricane. Ahh well, I'm in the processing of moving back to the other side of the state line right now. Where it's cheaper to live. Seeing's how Michigan ranks in the top 10 states for most expensive auto insurance (damn no fault crap) and Ohio is in the bottom 10...and my registration is due shortly - $100 in Michigan, yet I always paid less than $40 in Ohio. And gas prices just a mile over the state line even are normally at least 10 cents more a gallon. I don't own a house personally in Michigan, I only rent...but some years ago, a co-worker's husband got transferred to Ann Arbor. They decided to remain living in Toledo (in Ohio) because it was so much cheaper to live there and commute to Ann Arbor.
Not sure, but I do know that I really want to but a house for 7 grand, even if it in Michigan!
I think no. but i didnt know there is a single-state recession in Michigan. I dont even know what is a a single-state recession or how the people live in Michigan. Hope all of you guys have enough to eat three times a day
