Can anyone tell me the impact of colonialism on the environment both positive and negative?

Answer:
no...but I wanted the two points
Since you're specifically talking about the environment, I can't think of one positive thing. Post-colonial times brought scientific and techncial improvements in exploitation and production, but largely to correct colonial raping of the land and industrial damage.

Negatives: monoculture caused by plantations, effluence and emissions caused by production, damage caused by foreign flora and fauna, deforestation, species endangerment and extinction by overhunting, overfishing. I'm sure there's much more beyond this.

Economic growth traditionally (historically) has occurred largely at the expense of the natural environment. Colonialism in itself wasn't responsible for that part of the damage, but it did facilitate it.

Peace
negative: The Brazilian rain forest is a good example of a exploitation of the environment. It's colonialism at it's finest.

positive: central America. One key point is using technology to make land more productive for vegetation and for producing simply more food. colonialism at it's finest.
