Why is consumption of resources higher in developed nations than developing nations??

Answer:
by definiton the developed nation has a much higher GDP then the developing nation. That is the value of what they produce is greater, or alternatively the value of what they consume is greater (more or less).
In essence each individual has a greater purchasing power derived from their greater incomes and as such they consume more.
More people... more greed... "new ideas"...
Obvious. We have more gadgets!
People in developed nations produce greater surpluses which they sell to others. Resources aren't really consumed. They are transformed or moved from lower to higher uses. The lower the transaction costs the wealthier everyone becomes. Developing nations will hopefully catchup.
