U.S. should increase aid to africa?
Answer:
My opinion is no, we should not. If anything, U.S. should pull out, as should all other countries. This may sound hard-hearted, but hear me out. My brother spent around two years in africa, first in Eritrea, then in Malawi. What he saw there changed his mind about aid in Africa. Whatever money they get, the chiefs hoard for themselves and do not share with anyone else in the village. Because of us "aides" Africa really has no ethnicity of its own. Africans are extremely smart and resourceful. Without aid, they would most definitely find a way to cope.

Aid in fact is not the answer. What Africa needs is trade, good exchange of ideas, security and entrepreneurship. These things would pick things up enormously and make the continent very rich in just ten years. I can tell you that there are many very amazing African entrepreneurs out there who have only one goal: to work hard. They don't want charity, just a fair shake.
The US should start taking care of it's own citizens for awhile. While we handing out money, senior citizens here are living in squalor, can't afford vital care and go hungry. Let Bono save Africa.
Without a doubt yes! Africa is the cradle of civilization and we have depleted the resources there so badly that the people are suffering and need help. More important than that, as human beings, we should always help our fellow brothers and sisters over there or anywhere in the world. We should buy goods that have the profits directly benefit the economy over there, donate to aids research and medication so those over there with HIV can live longer and more productively. There are sooo many things we can do...the first being open our eyes to what is going on!
Giving aid to Africa is a bad idea for who usually receives it after the money is given away? The corrupt dictators for they use their power to steal the charity from those who need it or for who it was originally intended for.
