Why are some countries rich and others poor?

Maybe it has to do with greedy rulers, import/export business or lack of, population.?
The slave trade made some of the rich countries rich. There are also other things such as a good export rate of goods, and buying imported goods at a cheap price, often related to the slave trade. Its just the same as how a business is more successful than another.
some people work harder than others ... and demand same from their government ... and view education as a source of pride, not a chore.
Japan, Korea, China were dirt poor after WWII.
They did not receive that much aid.
Japan & Korea are developped now, China is catching up fast.
Why? B/c they worked their butts off for two generations instead of begging for aid and whining about unfairness of the world.
Some countries have far more intelligent and disciplined people than others. We are all equal in law, but in nothing else.
