Right now the U.S. has a 4.5% unemployment rate (last I read in the newspaper a couple of weeks ago).
LOL this is the best economy in almost a century. You ppl in CA have a slow economy cause you're so choked with sky-high taxes.
There is a general economic relative stagnation and considerable adjustments going on in terms of profitable economic activities and industries. Some places will have to bear with difficulties. Hope for the better. Good luck.
I think there is a bit of a slump right now, yes.
You can check with the Bureau of Labor statistics.
It is probably due to longish periods of higher than expected gas prices.
Someone mentioned the unemployment rate, but except during recessionary periods, it can be a poor gage of economic performance since large numbers of people who drop out of the labor force altogether.
As long as Bush continues this assinine war hes so adamant about continuing with, our economy will continue to decline. We are unfortunately in the same situation as we were during the Vietnam War days. Our senators and congressmen continue to tell us our economy is improving, but their not out there looking for a job now, are they? And guess what...when they finally DO leave their cushy jobs, they are set for life with a pension and all the benefits...can any of you say the same? The whole system needs to change, including the length of terms we allow these idiots to remain in office.
