A major result of European Imperialism was the spread of the culture. Take the US- we speak English, and have a culture very similar to that of England. Without that, our country, if it ever became one, would be vastly different. Then again, consider Africa, which largely rejected European Imperialism. They were brought into a more modern age by imperialists, and the culture and lives of people there were changed. The sharing and trading of ideas between a colonizer and the colonized is how these new ideas were spread, purposely or not. I'd be happy to elaborate more, I know a great deal about this subject.
