Arguements and examples defending Capitalism?

If my position paper is given the topic:
"Is capitalism a better economic system than socialism"
and I decide to defense "capitalism"
what will be some good arguements and examples to support this topic?

Desperatly needs help =(

Thanks in advance~

Answer:
Capitalism is a better economic system than socialism(communism) because it gives people an incentive to work. If everybody made the same amount of money there wouldn't be an incentive to work. However, in capitalism people have an incentive to do more work because you are able to get raises. Also the quality of products is much better in capitalism because the companies aren't owned by government.
If you need examples compare the health care of the U.S. compared to countries like Canada with socialized health care. Quality is much better in the United States.

I think we are both in the same dilemma.
Read.
Why globalization works.
That book should give you enough information. You will enjoy it.
For one your teacher is playing a trick on you. Most peole believe that America is a capitalistic country but it is not. Lets define the social structurs first.
Cummunism: to each his own according to his needs. Comes from the word community
Socialism: To each his own according to his station in sociaty.
comes from the word sociaty.
Capatilism: Those that have the gold make the rules
Free trade: Indaviduals are free to make their own choices and let the consumer decide what is right and what is broke.
Free trade is what most of Amaricas social structure is run on not capatilism. Capatilism you see mostly at the stock market and the bank. The bank gives you a loan and you pay them back with interest or you buy stock and if the stock goes up you get devidance or sell it because of the capital you have. As you can see having this as a social structure is not the idea state for Americans. Think of having parking spots at the store for the amount of money you make. Things like this happen in a capitalistic society. The closest sociaty I know of that values you by your worth is sweden. Also you can study monarchies because they are capitalistic societies. Now do you see how your teacher is playing a trick on you. don't let him/her get the best of you. Socailistic sociaties are fairly new and not that many have went undear yet and at this time very prosperes. Well monarchy is old and many have went undear.

hope this helps

You've staked out the winning position.

Capitalism is the only economic system that respects human freedom. Everything in capitalism is voluntary by nature. You can work where you want, buy stuff (or not) where you want, live where you want, live how you want, etc.

Capitalism rewards those that provide new and better products and services to us. Under capitalism, businesses seek to have you buy their products and services by competing to make that product or service better and cheaper than the competition. The competition naturally tries to do the same, so the end result is that products and services naturally get better and cheaper over time. The best example of this is the computer industry. They invest so much into R & D to improve their products, that a computer you buy today is about a hundred times more powerful than the one you bought 10 years ago, and at 1/3rd the price.

Read Capitalism & Freedom by Milton Friedman for more ideas. Excellent book.
