A movie/economics question?
In the movie Fight Club at the end the buildings of major credit card companies get destroyed to which Tyler earlier remarked that everyone would start over. How would this destruction affect the economy and the users of the credit cards?
Answer:
My guess would be that since all major credit card companies are multi-national, and have distributed databases; destroying the headquarters would not do anything as your debts and records would still be on stored in data warehouses around the world. I'd expect some service interruptions for a couple months but not much else, you'd still have to make your payments on time.
Don't know but I think I would not be looking out for any outcomes of this situation
