Does any one know about silver dollar bills?

i came across 3 dollar bills with blue seals with 1939 as the year on them can anyone explain to me what they are?

Answer:
There are such things as $1 Silver Certificates with blue treasury seals. However, there are none dated 1939. The only possible dates are 1928, 1934,1935, and 1957. Each date may have a letter after it (for example, Series 1935B). The letter changed each time one of the signatures changed.
Until 1963, it was possible to redeem these notes at the US treasury for silver. By 1964, this was no longer practical and these notes were no longer printed. They can no longer be redeemed for silver, but they are still worth face value.

Very intresting Ive never heard of anything like that.
Not positive but I think I saw where they were called "blue notes".
In 1934, the design of the $1 Silver Certificate was changed to reflect the Silver Purchase Act of 1934. Under Washington's portrait, ONE SILVER DOLLAR was changed to ONE DOLLAR due to the fact that Silver Certificates could be redeemed for silver bullion. The treasury seal was moved to the right and superimposed over ONE, and a blue numeral 1 was added to the left. The reverse remained the same
I believe you've found some original "silver certificate" dollar bills. These originated when silver backed our dollars. That has since changed, and there was a huge recall for all these bills.
As for value, I'm not sure...you might call a coin and money specialist. Just looking on eBay, they seem to be going for approximately $3, but it might suit you better to go to a specialist. The quality has a lot to do with the value.
