How would somebody find out about the stock market or what is a good website to use to get some information on the stock market?

Answer:
There are many excellent online sources for information on tjhe stock market. Most really good ones are extremely expensive. The best are of course Bloomberg terminals (not the website) and Reuters terminals, they are not available in a website form. Discount brokers like Ameritrade, E-Trade, Scottrade, Interactivebrokers, etc have decent real time stock market tracking "streaming" data. As to free websites, there are some very useful ones like Yahoo Finance.com, MarketWatch.com, Briefing.com, Bloomberg.com, etc.
Try Ameritrade, Scott Trade or E Trade.
I guess one good link is Yahoo Finance on Yahoo homepage.
