Do you think Consumer unions would level the playing field between Corp. America and Working Class people?

Answer:
Yes, but the general public is so poorly educated and so inadequately prepared for today's realities that consumer unions are unlikely to attract enough numbers to have clout. Only 12% of U.S. workers belong to labor unions, after all. That's quite indicative of how naive and unrealistic the public is right now. What I think could promote interest, though, are organizations like AARP that are already strong entities that could transition into full-blown consumer unions and take all their pre-existing members into that arena with them. Also, another possibility would be the ability, through cell phones, to read product bar codes and instantly ascertain whether the companies involved in and profiting from that product are "green", how green, history of labor abuses, etc., in order for consumers to grasp quickly exactly how rotten a company is.
Playing field is pretty level, because of competition.

In the few areas where the product is too complicated for consumers to make an informed decision, there are standards or, i case of medical care, HMO (Health Management Organizations)
