What is the exchange rate for the dolar to indian money?

we are planning a trip to india and would like to know as much about money exchange as possible. thx for any help.

I'm not sure which dollar you're talking about. I did three conversions just to be safe:

USD to INR = 1:40.7514569
CAD to INR = 1:36.9795428
AUD to INR = 1:33.6077265

These are the current exchange rates (as of today, May 18th). The currency for India is Rupees. To get a rough idea of what things cost in India, check out the link in my source.

I don't know, this is all i found: 1.0000 U.S. Dollar = 40.3650 Indian Rupees. Hope I helped!
