What are the main economic indexes?

in the field of ecnomics what are main economic indexes (or indices)

Answer:
The basic economic indexes are the GDP (gross domestic product), GNP (gross national product), and the CPI (consumer price index), and possibly the PPI (producer price index).
There are many indexes used by economists and the business world. An index is simply a way of showing how much something has changed from a base period in which the index is defined to have a value typically of 100. Thus if the index has increased to 240, the percentage increase is 240%. Such indexes include the consumer price index and the Standard and Poor 500 stock market index.
