Sweatshops, prove that ther'e bad!?
we all know that sweatshops are considered evil, but at the end of the day they are the ones who end up providing jobs to the unemployed in third world countries? then why do they have a negative image? tell me how sweatshops are bad (apart from the obvious reason, that they violate basic human rights and are practically hell!)
Answer:
Would you like to work 20 hours a day for a measly 15 cents an hour? I didn't think so, give it a try then get back at me.
the fact is the are promoting the exploitation of workers. just because those in third world countries are considered below the poverty line socio-economically, it doesn't give large corportation the right to come in and take advantage of the situation. sure its work, but the pay for the hours of labor is not at all remotely justified. just because the laborers are desperate for the small wage they get, doesn't make it right for sweatshops to offer spare change as a salary simply because they know they will take it. its like back during the great depression and workers picking fruit and cotton in california. thousands emigrated to california to work on the farms to pick the plentiful fruit and cotton gin, but because the workers were so massive, and everyone was deprate for some money, the owners were able to pay a nickel a sack eventhough the flier that made them emigrate promised much more. its all a system of supply and demand. and its not fair to exploit people out of their desperate situation
