Why does a GDP gap exist?

Answer:
Because the companies that are supposed to represent US interests have opted out of the US system for less taxes in other countries off shore. This means that the companies that are based in the US would rather pay the US tariff for importing (which is substantially less) than pay the tax for being stationed here. This causes the disparity. More imports than exports...let alone Walmart is one of the biggest abuser of this system. True they are stationed in Arkansas...but most if not all of its merchandise is made in countries with slave like labor conditions...this is why they are able to put so many Mom and Pops out of business, they undercut them with low prices. Archer Daniels Midland, and ConAgra also import foods for cheap instead of growing it here and paying taxes to the govt..~~~~W
Because a country imports more than it produces.
