How has the ever increasing price of gas affected you? What changes have you made?

The impact the price of gas has made is astonishing. Share how it has impacted your life.

Answer:
i dont have car anymore and take public transportation all the time but that's easy for me because i live in a big city where you dont really need a car.
as gas continues to soar in cost, and i continue to live out of town so i have to drive where ever i go, i have cut back in other areas of life. we don't go out as much, play, food, parties. soon enough i think everyone will purchase groceries, gas, and bills and nothing more. there will be no more fun, cause no one can afford to do it.
The only way it has affected my life is its taking more and more money out of my pockets and I don't like it but I still need gas and I have to get to work so I still fill up when I need it, it just takes more money.
I only made one change: I will keep my old car. I was going to buy myself a truck, but 15 mpg...is a non starter. So I think I will stick with my 1998 Nissan Altima and her 30mpg tested on the highway. Maybe I will buy myself a new pair of seat covers...to reward my car she is so good at milage. I'm taking exemple from europe, where gas is really expensive. Europeans take pride on how "small" a car is (look at the SMART car), americans take pride of how "big" a car is (look at the commercial for the Ford 250 and that guy that says..."aint no picnic either". Obviously they are trying to reach the audience that talk like that...spend a lot of money on cars and wonder why are they broke at the end of the month. Way to go my little Nssan!
I'm taking fewer trips in my car. Which means I'm staying home more and reading all the books and watching all the videos that have accumulated in my home.

I'm lucky enough with my income that the extra gas expense hasn't forced me to give up other things. But the shock of always paying 15-30 dollars every time I fill up is something I'm trying to keep to a minimum.
The price of gas is the one thing that really effects the poorer people among us. If the government could push aside the lunatic left wing enviromental extremist, we could tap our own oil reserves, including in shale rock, and actually build a refinery or two since refinery capacity and breakdowns are the big problem right now. Ethanol doesnt work and the quest is driving up food prices (7%) this year. Of course the government makes more money off a gallon of gas than anyone else involved in the process so they could cut taxes and thus drop the prices significantly.
