Answer:
I completely agree and I will not vote for any president that would want to socialize health care. That is really all anyone can do other than move to another country.
Canada does have socialize healthcare. That is why they come to the u.s. for major operations/surgery/illnesses. Have fun waiting looonnnngggg periods of time just to see the doctor.
I think the educated in the U.S. go unheard. We are a minority it seems. I REALLY hope that I stay healthy for the remainder of my life
Canada has Socialized Medical coverage, most of the world does, and they are not socialist governments.
Actually, the companies still get money from the state funded hospitals who need to purchase medicine. A state funded healthcare is rather similar to health insurance, however it is accessible to all citizens and is funded through taxes. Several medical discover have been made in Canada, where such a system is in place.
Social measures to ensure that poor people have an easy access to basic services should not be seen as communism anyway.
I think its that they believe someone else will have to pay for their health care. They don't realize that they will also be paying for the health care of everyone else. Medicine is going to be socialised in America I don't see anyway around it. Then we can be like Canada and have people dying waiting for their turn to be treated. Because a single payer, socialised health care will be rationed health care. Without market forces to control the cost of or demand for health care the government will have ration it. Just like they do in Canada.
A social healthcare would be like mass homicide. Hospitals will be overcrowded with people who dont really need help and are just taking advantage of the free care. People with minor bruises, colds, and stupid illnesses that go away easily, will go to the hospital when otherwise money would detter them from going. People who really need the help will have to wait longer and many of them wont make it. The death rate from sickness would skyrocket from the longer waits. If you think you're waiting long on the ER then hold on to your hats because time will at least triple.
By definition socialists dont think about the future. All their solutions involve throwing money at the problem.
First of all, I haven't heard any politician talking about public health care. Instead we hear about "universal health care," which amounts to mandatory private health insurance and I think you can guess who that benefits.
Second, even if I were to believe your ridiculous "profit-incentive" theory of disease research, I would still prefer to live in a society where everyone is guaranteed basic health care.
It's also useful to note that the profit system you so idolize has made innovative treatments so expensive that most people can't even afford them. What's THEIR incentive, I wonder?
Please enlighten me, since I'm obviously so ignorant.
