Are mermaids real please notified as soon as possible?

i heard in the news that they were real but somtimes they lie.

No mermaids arent real.
the myth itself stems from sailors spotting manitees or something like them in the water just before storms as mermaids were thought to be an omen of this.
is all been romantisized in the little mermaid and other stories.
you have to remember that sailors were really superstitious
