can anyone direct me to a source of such information? I found GDP per capita, income per capita - but not average salaries/

It is really diificult to answer your question as there are so many Countries in the World and can not be listed here, but to guide you it is always easy to find a particular Country's GNP ( Gross National Product) convert it into US$ & then divide on its population you will get its per Capita Income, its not possible to get it from GDP because GDP does'nt include a Country's incoming DFI ( Direct Foriegn Investment) Remmitances from Overseas Nationals working abroad, Foriegn Loans,Foriegn Aid ( In case of Developing & under Developed Countries) and Services rendered abroad etc.Normally countries declare their per capita income in their annual budgets however it may be more helpful if you can find something on a UN site.
