What you think the world would be like if this scientist invention or contribution to the world of science was not discovered.

Answer:
There would be alot less people on the planet if Charles Drew had not originated the idea of preserving blood. Think of all the soliders injured in battle, who without Drew's idea would have died? Think of all the people injured in accidents who would have died without access to blood products? In 1940. Charles Drew sent a report to the National Blood Transfusion Committee, which stated that for cases of shock, burns and open wounds, plasma often worked better than whole blood. It could also be stored and transported without refrigeration. Blood plasma is essential for survival. Because of Drew's idea today fresh frozen plasma (FFP) is prepared from a single unit of blood. It is frozen after collection and can be stored for one year from date of collection

Following the Plasma for Britain project (1940), Dr. Drew was named director of the Red Cross Blood Bank and assistant director of the National Research Council, in charge of blood collection for the United States Army and Navy. Drew argued against the armed forces directive that blood/plasma was to be separated by the race of the donor. Dr. Drew argued that there was no racial difference in blood and that the policy would lead to needless deaths as soldiers and sailors had to wait for "same race" blood. His efforts have allowed millions of people to live, where previously these people would have died.
