Well, I think a rephrasing of the question is in order, but I'll attempt to answer.
I don't think Americans are necessarily rich and bratty. I don't believe wealth has ever been the cause of any country's downfall, but I do believe in the phrase "absolute power corrupts absolutely". I think America's greatest threat is that it has no apparent rivals, and there's a lot of opportunities within the bureacracy for internal corruption. However, I don't think America is in danger of losing its influence anytime soon. As long as no major wars are fought, we still have another 30-50 years of tremendous influence in world affairs, I'm guessing.
Nations usually cave in on themselves when the gap between the economic classes increases, and even though it may seem like there is a tremendous gap (and there is), the "gap" between the rich and the poor in the United States is comparative to that of other relatively stable, first world democracies. However, it's interesting to note that the gap is increasing and scandinavian countries spread out their wealth much more evenly than us. Scandinavian countries do have their own set of problems though.
scuse me.. americans? maybe a few select ones but not every american..take a look around there are children going to bed starving to death here. .living with no running water with uneducated parents that have no money and dont have a clue they can get assistance nor have the courage to ask.. You need to get out in the real world and take a look around .. thats all i have to say about that..
