Do you recycle paper?

If yes, why do you and what do you think are the advantages?
If not, why don't you, and what do you think are the disadvantages?

Answer:
Yes... I use it as scratch paper and then for a final use we burn in to heat the house!

The advantage would be that we cut down on our energy consumption by heating the house with all the scratch paper and junk mail!!

Its a win win situation.
Yes. It costs less (both monetarily and environmentally) to recycle paper than to make new paper.
nope. i think it's good if you do, but it takes too much time
i do. Also, i think that its so important becuase with jsut the extra effort, and if ecveryone participated, the collective effort would greatley benefit our country
Yes. I print on both sides of every sheet of paper I use and use any left over white space to scribble notes. Unfortunately, there is no recycling program here so I just keep the used paper in a closet. I also don't buy newspapers.
To save the trees.
I lived in British Columbia for many years and have seen the horrible scars left by logging. If we destroy the forests, we destroy one of the major sources of oxygen.
I do when it's convenient, and don't when if it's not convenient -- although, who buys newspapers anymore anyway?

Recycling is NOT always necessarily a good thing. The process of recycling costs money, ties up resources, consumes energy, involves lots of chemicals, and causes pollution. And with regard to paper, it does NOT save trees, since paper companies grow their own tree farms to supply their own raw material. If it seems less supply will be needed, they'll simply plant fewer trees. These days paper companies don't go around cutting down virgin Redwoods for paper supply.

I'd judge that we're best off doing whichever is cheaper -- (though I don't know if that means recycling or using trees).
I do recycle paper.
If you recycle, there is less paper being made, which saves more trees.
There are probably a bunch of other advantages, but that's just one that I think is the best advantage of recycling paper.
