The study of economics not useful to accounting student?

Answer:
If you are a bookkeeper then no it isn't of much use. If you are a controller or a cfo it is critical. So very many important concepts come out of micro and macro economics. However, until you are either a decision maker or support the decision makers, it doesn't matter.

If you are responsible for pricing, budgeting, production estimates, certain GAAP pronouncements required in the notes, or competitive analysis, you will really need to understand economics, not simply just pass the class.
It is useful, especially microeconomics and macroeconomics.
