What are the essential elements of political system?
Answer:
Essential, huh? I'm going to say the ability to resolve conflicts and disputes between opposing parties/individuals in ways that are acceptable to those individuals. When we have a personal dispute with another person we trust that we have a good chance or having that dispute resolved in court (or having our own private agreement enforced by a court). When we want to decide broader rules for how our society will work, we are for the most part comfortable in letting our elected legislators decide what those rules should be (and if enough of us don't like those rules we just change the legislators, or in some states, the rules themselves, through voting). And when we disagree about how the government itself should be run and administered, we agree to set up a system where we elect an executive and we give that President the authority to run the country for a while. In all of those ways, our political system tries to help disputing factions resolve those disputes, and without violence.
After all, "politics is a continuation of war, by other means" (who said that, anyway? Google is telling me that it's Clausewitz, so I'll accept that for now), but at least a decent political system takes the violence out of it.
Are you wanting to know the three branches of government? Congress, Executive and Judicial. Political system? Do you mean political parties? Republicans believe in lower taxes, less government interference, ie, smaller government, you earn as much as you can any way you can, you take care of yourself and your own problems. Democrats believe the government should take care of the people, we pay more taxes, we have more programs, more regulation in the market place and work place, ie bigger government, government is involved in everything, government is there to help you if you need help.
