Coming out of university in the UK at least an economist can usually get a job with a starting salary of about 20 thousand pounds a year. These jobs are usually in big consulting firms such a PWC, Deloitte, Accenture etc or banks. Jobs range from business consulting, auditing, banking, human resources management etc. The good thing about an economics degree is that its very versatile. You can do anything with it because employers consider it a degree that is a good basis because it gives you a very original way of thought.
you can join the government body in any country like EDB in Singapore. also, all major banks have economic research departments.
