It is helpful to think of the unemployed as ' a stagnant pool of workers waiting indefinately for jobs'.
do you agree?
Answer:
parasites
You may start ask yourself: helpful for who?
Nope personally i think they are a bunch of lazy arsed benefits frauds who are just left to screw the state out of millions, while us workers are paying for the privelidge
No - I know lots of healthy people claiming all sorts of benefits and do not want to work - some are in fact better off on benefits than taking low paid work. They are stagnant only in respect that they are lazy fat arshhed takers. Sorry, but thats how it seems to me when I am walking to work in the snow.
some of them are not waiting for jobs - they know there is no point in even looking for a job as they have plenty to live on thanks to the UK benefits system
no because the pool is constantly being refreshed with newly unemployed in most parts of the country. In rural areas or depressed areas this statement may be partly true but never completely true.
helpful in what way?
A few harsh answers there!! I myself am unemployed due to having had several operations (all paid for by myself, not the government) and am recurrently unwell enough to work. I don't scrounge off benefits, I managed to save enough money from when I was younger (I'm 21 now) and afford my rent, council tax, bills etc without relying on you lovely tax payers to do it for me. I do agree that there are those out there who milk the system for every last penny they can, but some people are unemployed for genuine reasons...
Not really
Unemployed is a broad category
Those who cant get any employment despite trying (majority)
Those that choose unemployment as a lifestyle (miniority)
Those that have mental/physical disabilities, are three major catagories. Unfair really to tarnish all those with the daily mails view of the unemployed
Are you guys all from another country? To be truly unemployed a person must be will and able to work. If not working then they must be actively pursing employment. Unemployment benefits only last for so long. If you are one of those folks who have ongoing health problems or a disability, I doubt the above comments were directed to you. I would hope that we can agree on that. I've been fortunate to have never needed unemployment benefit, but should my day come, I will do what it takes to stay ahead of the bill collectors. I would not abuse the system, but I would use it as intended.
