If a firm's goal is to make profit, then they must sell a product or service at a price that is higher then their cost

If a firm sells bananas, they need farmers, transporters, sellers etc.

wage distribution is the act of distrobution of appropriate wages to the employees. Certainly all are important, but some are worth more than others. This is the job of the firm: to decide who is worth what.
